CEV is an incorporated community association that is governed by a volunteer board. Our work is deliver by a paid executive team and a community of dedicated volunteers.

Our shared value proposition to CEV members is to empower each individual to take their own journey to circularity in a way that supports CEV's vision/mission and adds value to the CEV community.

Ian Wong
President

Board of Directors

Ian, is a co-founder and President of Circular Economy Victoria, a not-for-profit dedicated to empowering every Victorian to experience their lives through a Circular lens.

 

He has a deep passion for the application of Doughnut Economics to work towards a safe and just world where everyone can thrive within the means of our planet.   As a former Partner in IBM’s consulting business, at various times, he has led IBM’s digital strategy, experience and design practice, and retail industry practice in Australia and New Zealand.  

He currently serves on the Board of the Royal Botanic Gardens Foundation Victoria and Circular Economy Victoria.  Ian also works on assisting organisations of any size, including startups, take advantage of digital capabilities to develop customer and stakeholder experiences to grow whilst staying true to their core purpose and values. 

He has lived in many places across the world including England, Mauritius, Canada, Singapore, the USA and has finally settled in Melbourne with his lovely wife and two young children.

Marty Rowell
Vice President

Marty is the Vice President of Circular Economy Victoria. With a background in new product development working with both corporates and SME’s, he is passionate about leveraging the principles of the circular economy to drive business for good, to deliver a positive impact, for this, and future generations.

 

Having co-founded and run a circular economy company in Melbourne, he has first-hand experience and practical knowledge of extolling the benefits, as well as overcoming the challenges in applying disruptive circular business models. He now helps business leaders and change-makers progress their organisation’s journey towards circularity through the provision of practical circular economy training and upskilling programs.

 

Committed to advancing the circular economy in Victoria, he is also an active member of the Steering Committee for Circularity 23, collaborating with industry and host organisations in bringing the peak industry conference to Melbourne in 2023.

Scott is the Treasurer of the Circular Economy Victoria.  With a background in mechanical and sustainability engineering, energy policy and the circular economy, Dr. Scott Bryant is currently working with the City of Greater Bendigo to develop a circular, renewable economy (and society) in the region.

 

Previously he led on the implementation of the Scottish Government’s circular economy strategy amongst energy sector businesses as the Circular Economy lead for energy infrastructure at Zero Waste Scotland. He brings this experience and insight to bear as part of the CEV Board, working to support the development of a circular Victoria.

Scott Bryant

Nicky is a fashion designer and digital manufacturer with over ten years of experience in the fashion industry.
By supporting SMEs and innovative start-ups, joining policy consultation processes, raising awareness through public speaking and lectures, Nicky actively promotes a system change towards a circular economy both in Australia and in Europe.


In her role as an Innovation Officer at City of Casey, she has enabled the establishment of one of first government-led Circular Economy Living Lab in Australia, exploring collaborative opportunities for impact through co-design of scalable circular solutions.

Lucan is a Non-Executive Director of Circular Economy Victoria, and the Chair of the VCA Showcase Committee.  He is a brand, business development and strategic partnerships specialist who has worked extensively in the major events industry. More recently Lucan has consulted in the environmental and social impact spaces with a focus on the Circular Economy, working with start-ups, scale-ups, government and corporates.

Through his Circular Economy wine start-up, Lucan has practical experience in applying circular economy principles and both the opportunities and challenges they present.
